CERAMICISTS’ MART

OCT: 03 + 04 | 11AM-5PM
ABNEY HALL | LONDON N16

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Our much-loved Ceramicists’ Mart is back at Abney Hall in Stoke Newington, bringing 60+ brilliant independent ceramicists + potters together under one roof for an entire weekend dedicated to clay.

If you’re a ceramics nerd (we see you), this is where you’ll want to be this weekend. Every single stall is dedicated to ceramics, with an enormous variety of work from emerging + established ceramic artists, studio potters + studio collectives from across London + the UK.

Expect everything from beautifully made functional homewares – bowls, plates, mugs, espresso cups, platters, butter dishes + oil bottles – to sculptural ceramics, wall pieces, giant jugs, plant pots, trinket trays, ceramic jewellery, charms, shrines + all sorts of wonderful things we couldn't possibly predict.

Whether you're looking for that spesh conversation piece for your homestead, hunting down a thoughtful handmade gift or simply fancy spending an afternoon surrounded by an unreasonable amount of utterly excellent pottery, there's going to be pllllenty to discover at our Stoke Newington ceramics market.

MEET THE CERAMICISTS BEHIND THE WORK

One of our absolute fave things about Ceramicists' Mart (and, in fact, all our markets) is getting to buy work directly from the people who made it. It’s the best, and really does create so much meaning around what you choose to buy (and why you choose to buy it).

Take your time, pick things up, ask questions + have a nice long natter with the ceramicists behind all the pieces that catch your eye (there’ll be loads). You might discover how something was thrown, hand-built, glazed or fired – or go home knowing exactly who made the mug you'll be drinking your coffee from for the next ten years.

Brilliant work + human connection = magic. And, to top it all off, every purchase goes directly towards supporting your local economy, because you’re spending your money with independent artists + creative small businesses who live right on your doorstep.

COME HUNGRY + THIRSTY

All that ceramics browsing requires sustenance, obviously. Our resident Pierogi Queen will be back serving what we maintain are some of THE best pierogi in London – ideal fuel for another lap of the market. You’ll also find delicious drinks at the bar – keep an eye on our socials to see who’ll be with us!

MAKE A DAY OF IT IN STOKE NEWINGTON

Don't rush off afterwards. Stoke Newington Church Street is packed with independent places to eat, drink + browse, with Spence Bakery + 13th Floor Coffee among our favourites for a pre or post-market pit stop.

For something greener, wander through Clissold Park and say hello to the goats, birds + fallow deer, or head directly across the road from Abney Hall into Abney Park Cemetery – one of London's Magnificent Seven garden cemeteries, now a woodland memorial park + Local Nature Reserve.

Ceramics + pierogi + coffee + a little tree bath? Excellent Saturday or Sunday, we reckon. ✨
